Beautiful artistry and elegance. This silent short by Julie Gautier is one of those pieces that simply moves you. Backed by a terrific composition titled, Rain, in Your Black Eyes by Ezio Bosso, the piece is a masterful work of art in more ways than one.
The short features the dancer, filmmaker and deep-sea diver in the world’s deepest indoor pool, Deep Joy Y-40 (130ft/40m), wonderfully dancing for over 6 minutes. Premiering on International Woman’s Day (3/8/18), the piece can be interpreted in whatever way the viewer decides. Gautier is quoted as saying:
“Ama is a silent film. It tells a story everyone can interpret in their own way, based on their own experience. There is no imposition, only suggestions.”
Whatever you’re going through in life, the arts always seem to have a way of tapping into our truest selves. Gautier’s piece is another great example of such a connection.
Enjoy
